Posted by Bobzilla in 50 Book Challenge 2006It has to be said I wasnt looking forward to this one that much. It was one of the books I’d included that I didnt really want to read.
Now I enjoyed the films for what they were and unlike most folk refuse to moan about them being crap because (up until teh most recent one at least) they are aimed at kids and unlike things like Star Wars or the recent animated films like Madagascar they dont even try and aim for the adults. This means they are simple and you can forgive anything ‘missing’ from the story.
The book however is a dmna good read and you start to see why the adults moan so much about things missing or being changed in the movie. It’s the cool wee things that seem to get missed out.
I’m curious to see if the next book is just like this and if it is I’ll give it a read. I’ll never be one of those fan’s that wear the scarves and specs but it was an enjoyable read.

I have too admit, I felt the first book a bit too childish, the second was getting a bit better. I’ll have to get some of the others now …
Yeah..up until the unicorn got killed it was very much a kids book but I wonder if how the book described it was a bit OTT for kids.
