"They cut the power."

So I’ve finally started to get the details written down for the throwaway game I’m running to get us back into the habit of gaming. One of my players suggested Shadowrun and we’ve went with it even though I’m still trying to source some of the books I need. This is where I bore you guys with a very stereotypical game outline and hopefully get more of the actual players taking part to read this blog ;)

The Pitch
The year is 2055 and something has gone down in Chicago. A viral outbreak or an earthquake. No one really knows but what they do know is that UCAS has quarantined the city. One of the many corporations that have a base in Chicago has a problem though. Deep within one of thier buildings is some research material that they desperately need saved and with the blockade in place all official channels are blocked. Bring in the ‘runners.

It will be the runners job to find a way past the quarantine, locate the office and find the material. Once that is accomplished the team will rendezvous with another set of runners on a similar mission and proceed to a prearranged extraction point where everyone will be airlifted out of the city.

The characters will be assigned on the day and whether they survive or not the game will end that evening. The next time we pick up the Shadowrun books will be for a proper campaign with player generated characters.
