750g Chicken
2 Carrots
2 Onions
2 Tins Chopped Tomatoes
9 Pitted Dates
Handful Dried Apricots
1 Tsp Turmuric
1 Tsp Cumin
1 Tsp Garam Masala
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1/2 Tsp Ground Black Pepper
Tiny bit of Ground Cloves
2 Cloves of Garlic

Fry the onion with the spices and add the chopped chicken after a few minutes. Once the chicken starts to cook add the carrots, fruit and tinned chopped tomatos. Mix it all together and transfer to the slow cooker and cook on med for 4 hours. Stick on low until ready to serve.

Serve with couscous and enjoy.

Hopefully it’ll taste nice otherwise I’ll put this one down to experience and call in pizza :p

I remember being served Tagine’s in Morocco and they always looked so amazing, the one time we got a veggie option they’d used poached eggs in place of the meat. About four or five eggs placed near the edges and everything else piled around & into the funnel/pyramid bit.
All the flavours work into everything else, yummy.

Although I can’t remember if it was really that good or if I just enjoyed it because it was the first thing other than Omelette Champignon or “salad & chips” I’d eaten for a fortnight!
I also have no idea how it’d work to cook without a tagine pot thingy…

The tagine pot thingie costs something like £60 to buy :s

As far as I know it works by making sure all the evaporating water goes back into the pot so the slow cooker is probably the closest thing that would work well.

I have to say it was fantastic though! To be honest you could probably replace the chicken with veg along the lines of courgettes, sweet potato and peppers and it would still taste fantastic.

Obviously I’ve never had the real thing but this tasted good :)
